Money Transfer Service Scheme
Terms & Conditions
- Inbound Money Transfer to India operates as per RBI’s guidelines & within the following framework:
- Beneficiary can be an individual (customer or otherwise), a visiting foreign tourist or a foreign student studying in India.
- Restricted to Inbound Money Transfer service in the name of individuals and personal use only.
- Maximum permissible limit per transaction: USD 2500 per beneficiary.
- 12 Transactions per beneficiary are permitted in a calendar year.
- Maximum cash payment restricted to Rs. 50000/-. Remittance above Rs. 50000/- shall be paid through Pay Order / Draft or credit to beneficiary’s domestic savings account.
- Foreign nationals / visitors shall be paid the entire amount (max. eq. of USD 2500) in cash
- No minor can be beneficiary of the remittance.
- Credit to NRE/NRO account is not permitted
- About 900 branches across all States have been identified to undertake the transactions in the first phase.
- Payments are made in Indian Rupee only and can be collected by the intended receiver from any of the designated branches.
- Repatriation benefits are not available
